Research in Applied Psychology

Applied Psychology at Heriot-Watt University bridges the gaps that are often found between theory and real-word application. Our research activities are focussed on three research groups concerning Relationships and Well-Being; Applied Cognition and Vision; and Cognitive Development and Education. In addition to the research that has been funded by research councils, much of our research is carried out in collaboration with external bodies from the public and private sectors such as law enforcement agencies, the music industry, the NHS, the Scottish Executive, the Health and Safety Executive, and the Transport and Road Research Laboratory.
